We welcome as members all who support our mission of furthering the appreciation and study of Jonathan Bayliss and his works.
Membership Benefits
- Free subscription to the Bayliss Society Notebook (currently published once or twice a year), which includes essays about Bayliss and his work, JBS updates, and previously unpublished Bayliss correspondence and other writing. See the PDF of #3 Spring 2020 for an example.
- Invitation to the annual conference (usually held in Gloucester, Massachusetts, on a weekend in September).
- Participation in the JBS member meetings and voting in the annual election of Directors. (Institutional members may designate a primary contact to participate in member meetings.)
- Invitations to special events.
Membership Dues and Levels
Annual membership runs from January 1 through December 31. Members who join after August 1 are paid through the end of the following year. We greatly appreciate your support as a member at any level. If you are able, please consider choosing a voluntary GLOUCESTERMAN level membership, which further helps the Society cover increasing operational costs.

You are welcome to mail your dues payment by check or international draft denominated in US Dollars. Please print and fill out our membership form for payment by check and mail it with your check, payable to the Jonathan Bayliss Society, 11 Rocky Pasture Road, Gloucester MA 01930 USA. It is crucial that we obtain your name, mailing address, and email address.
